SAFARI ITINERARY FOR 5 DAYS 4 NIGHTS
Day 1: Arusha/Moshi to Tarangire National Park
In the morning we will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi/Arusha and begin our journey to Tarangire National Park, which is located just a few hours’ drive south west from Arusha city. Tarangire National park is famous for its huge herd of elephants, of up to 300 individuals. They scratch the dry river bed for underground streams in search of water. The Tarangire river after which the park is named does not out dry throughout the year which and attract migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, grant gazelle, hartebeest, eland and up to 500 different species of birds who crowd the shrinking lagoons.
You will spend the night high on the slopes of the Great Rift Valley at Heaven Nature campsite or at Kudu lodge in Karatu
Day2: Tarangire National Park to Serengeti National park
After breakfast you will then drive to Serengeti which is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park and is also a UNESCO World Heritage site and recently proclaimed a World natural Wonder, The Serengeti is a year-round destination and each season has its own special highlight with the most famous being the annual wildebeest migration – a once in a lifetime experience. Serengeti National park supports every variety of animal imaginable – from large predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah to the smaller herbivores they prey on.
After game drive, inner and overnight in Serengeti at Nyani campsite or Serengeti Tortilis Camp
Day 3: Serengeti National park to Ngorongoro Highlands
Wakeup early in the morning, after breakfast you will depart from your lodge or campsite for morning game drive and enjoying a beautiful sunrise then continue with game drive. On the way to Ngorongoro you may opt to visit Maasai village where you can expect to learn about the Maasai religious beliefs, culture and lifestyle. You will have the opportunity to enter into one of their traditional dwellings and hear them sing and dance (and join in if you wish) and see their famous jumping abilities.
Then continue to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s seven natural wonders! Before dinner is served, enjoy awesome views of the crater below.
Overnight stay on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater at Simba campsite or Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Lake Manyara National park
Today you’ll rise early in the morning to descend the Ngorongoro Crater floor, the largest Caldera in the world. A sheer drop of 610 meters below the crater rim, has an area of about 300 square kilometers, with a diameter of 19 kilometers. The sight of the Ngorongoro Crater is simply stunning. “There is nothing with which to compare. It is one of the wonders of the world and listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site it also considered one of the most beautiful and unique places in Africa. Here you will find a haven of African wildlife and you might also be lucky enough to witness the endangered Rhino! Enjoy a game drive and lunch by the hippo pool.
After game drive proceed near to Lake Manyara National park at Haven nature or Kudu Lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight
Day 5: Lake Manyara National park to Arusha or Moshi
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National park which is located within the Great Rift Valley. Lake Manyara claims a remarkable setting, famous for its tree-climbing lions and soda-ash Lake. The park also provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife which has one of the largest populations of water birds in Africa at over 400 species, including flamingos, pelicans and other migrant and resident birds.
After game drive in Lake Manyara National park, drive back to Arusha or Moshi.
